APPROVED ABSTRACTS - POSTER SESSION

Presentations for the 1st IBAMTOX can cover research, thesis and dissertation results and should be original. Authors are fully responsible for the contents of their submissions. The content of the abstracts must fit in the subject of the Meeting: Toxicology and Environmental Health.

Registration payment for the presenting author covers one abstract submission only. Other abstract authors who wish to participate need to register and pay the registration fee in advance, but should not resubmit a previously submitted abstract. Register until the deadline for abstract submission, May 22, 2009.

Different abstract submissions involving the same author are accepted, provided that a different author registers each abstract.

Abstracts by the same author will not be accepted if this characterizes research duplication.

The submitted abstract should follow the template shown below, with sufficient quality for adequate graphic reproduction; otherwise, it will not be accepted. Tables and graphics will be allowed, since the limit of 2500 characters is respected.

The congress promoter reserves the right to publish abstracts in congress annals in print or CD.

All studies will be presented as posters. Depending on the recommendations of the Scientific Committee, the authors of the best abstracts will be invited to submit an original full paper to be published in a special issue of Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health (JTEH), published by Taylor & Francis.

Taylor & Francis will offer Book Awards for the three best student presentations from Latin America in the amount of US$ 200 each, at the Meeting. The Scientific Committee will be responsible for the selection of the awards winners.

ABSTRACTS CAN ONLY BE SUBMITTED IN ENGLISH. The organizers of 1st IBAMTOX reserve the right to refuse studies written in inadequate or erroneous English.

The abstracts will not be divided into separate areas.

Only one (01) certificate will be issued in the name of the presenting author, mentioning the names of all other authors and the research title.

Carefully fill out the information on the registration form (Title, authors), as it will be used to produce the certificate.

2. ABSTRACT ELABORATION

The abstract must be elaborated in English, as follows:
Software: Word for Windows.
Maximum 2500 characters (including spaces and characters used in title, authors, text, institution, acknowledgements and advisor).
Margins: right 2 cm and left 3 cm
Typeface: Times New Roman, normal style, font size twelve, simple lining, no paragraphs.
Leave one line between: title and authors; authors and institution; institution and text.
Abstracts should contain: introduction, objective(s), methods, results and conclusion(s).

3. FORMAT

Title: Complete title, upper case, bold, justified left.
Author(s): Justified left, full name (name, surname) in upper case. Underline the presenting author’s name (same name as on the registration form). Separate names by a semicolon. Each name should be followed by a superscripted number referring to the affiliated institution.
If the first and presenting author’s is a student from Latin America, indicate, after the full name and superscripted number, using an asterisk in upper case.
Institution(s): provide the name of the Institution in its original language, city, state, country and one e-mail for contact.
Text: Justified, specify: introduction, objectives, method, results and conclusion(s).
Footnote: acknowledge financial support.
Obs.: Abstracts that do not attend to the instructions will not be accepted. Please pay careful attention to writing in English, as abstracts with typing, spelling or grammatical mistakes will be refused.

5. ABSTRACT EVALUATION
• All abstracts will be analyzed by the Scientific Committee, based on the following selection criteria: compliance with instruction, scientific quality and contents.

6. APPROVAL AND RULES
• The acceptance letter for the approved abstracts will be available on the website www.ibamtox.cifarp.com.br as from August 3, 2009, including all necessary information and rules.
